Jeanne Clery Campus Crime Report and Policy

The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 requires colleges, universities and trade schools to provide students and applicants a detailed report of crime statistics for the prior three years. The Ocean Corporation does not provide on-campus housing and does not have any non-campus buildings, so the statistics provided below are based on incidents occurring on the campus grounds or adjacent public property.

Timely Warning Notification Policy: In addition to the required annual Campus Security Report (below), the Ocean Corporation will provide a timely warning to students and employees of any occurrences of the crimes listed below that are reported to campus officials or local police agencies and are considered to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees:

If the school is aware of such a crime, and the management of the school feels that a serious and continuing threat to students and employees exists, the school will post notices in various locations throughout the campus, including all entrance/exit doors from the campus building. These notices will remain in place for ten days, or longer if school management feels a continuing threat remains.

Security of Campus Facilities: The Ocean Corporation campus is private property. All visitors must report to the reception desk and be admitted to the grounds/buildings by a member of the faculty or staff.  Any unauthorized visitation or other trespassing on Ocean Corporation facilities, including trespassing by students during non-business hours, is strictly prohibited.

Crime Prevention Program: The Ocean Corporation does not maintain dormitories or other facilities that are used outside of regular school hours. Sufficient faculty and staff are available throughout the building and grounds during business hours to reduce the likelihood of crime during school hours. Students and employees are encouraged to be vigilant and observant, and to protect themselves and each other by promptly reporting suspicious activity to proper authorities immediately.

Campus Law Enforcement: The Ocean Corporation does not maintain a law enforcement department or employ a security force. All crimes and other emergencies will be handled by the Houston Police Department or other appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Drug and Alcohol Policies: Follow this link to the Ocean Corporation Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Sexual Assault Prevention/Reporting: The Ocean Corporation does not maintain dormitories or other facilities that are used outside of regular school hours. Sufficient faculty and staff are available throughout the building and grounds during business hours to make such an occurrence on our campus unlikely. Any crime, including sexual assault, on or off campus, should be reported immediately to the Houston Police department or other appropriate law enforcement agency.

Data Collection: Data on campus crime used in the creation of the Annual Campus Security Report will be collected from internal Ocean Corporation incident reports and Houston Police Department records. The Annual Report will be posted by October 1 each year, according to federal regulation.
